Internet via satellite

Netsystem developed in-house a full satellite platform to deliver IP connectivity services with performances comparable to those of terrestrial ADSL. It was a pioneer in this technology and soon became the main European operator. Since 2003 Netsystem operates, turn-key, Telecom Italia AliceSAT platform.

Internet via DTT

Netsystem developed in-house a full DVB-T platform to deliver IP connectivity services with performances comparable to those of terrestrial ADSL.

Webcasting

Netsystem co-operated with the European Space Agency (ESA) and with satellite global leader SES ASTRA to successfully develop the "Casablanca" webcasting platform which provides with "real time-no connection Browsing services": it exploits the satellite multicast features allowing to download a selected carnet of Internet websites directly in the pc hard disk and to keep them constantly updated.

Software applications

Netsystem created a set of software and applications in order to improve its platforms efficiency. Namely: Bandwidth Control Manager, the sole satellite/DTT band advanced control software able to effectively handle thousand of customers by the very same transponder/multiplexer; Engine multi-transponder/multiplexer, the sole European engine for the handling of multi-frequency/transponder among DVB-S/T services, which allows to always dynamically settle the users in those transponder/multiplexer with the current best band availability, obtaining the best possible band performance; Dynamic link sharing, a software suite which saves band capacity by exploiting the way-back terrestrial channel.
